Quick Wrap: Nifty PSU Bank Index records a surge of 2.38%

Nifty PSU Bank index ended up 2.38% at 5383.25 today. The index has added 19.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Union Bank of India rose 5.46%, Indian Bank gained 4.19% and Bank of Maharashtra jumped 3.88%. The Nifty PSU Bank index has increased 85.00% over last one year compared to the 15.64% spike in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Energy index has slid 1.28% and Nifty Auto index is down 1.20% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 is down 0.56% to close at 19528.75 while the SENSEX has slid 0.48% to close at 65512.1 today.
