Quick Wrap: Nifty PSU Bank Index records a surge of 1.35%

Nifty PSU Bank index ended up 1.35% at 4279.95 today. The index has lost 6.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Canara Bank jumped 2.35%, Punjab & Sind Bank rose 2.27% and Bank of Baroda added 1.76%. The Nifty PSU Bank index has increased 54.00% over last one year compared to the 1.65% fall in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Metal index increased 1.27% and Nifty Services Sector index gained 0.75% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 increased 0.55% to close at 17956.6 while the SENSEX witnessed a rise of 0.51% to close at 60261.18 today.
