Quick Wrap: Nifty Metal Index records a surge of 4.23%

Nifty Metal index ended up 4.23% at 6633.95 today. The index has added 3.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Jindal Steel & Power Ltd jumped 9.01%, National Aluminium Company Ltd rose 6.48% and Hindalco Industries Ltd gained 6.33%. The Nifty Metal index has increased 21.00% over last one year compared to the 6.12% spike in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Commodities index increased 2.01% and Nifty PSU Bank index increased 1.29% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 increased 0.65% to close at 18132.3 while the SENSEX witnessed a rise of 0.60% to close at 60927.43 today.
