Quick Wrap: Nifty Media Index records a surge of 1.85%

Nifty Media index ended up 1.85% at 2160.35 today. The index has added 5.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Dish TV India Ltd rose 9.76%, Inox Leisure Ltd added 3.27% and Nazara Technologies Ltd jumped 2.69%. The Nifty Media index has decreased 2.00% over last one year compared to the 0.47% spike in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Private Bank index has slid 1.42% and Nifty Bank index is down 1.39% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 has dropped 0.50% to close at 17629.8 while the SENSEX has slid 0.57% to close at 59119.72 today.
