The primary investment objective of the Scheme is to generate long-term capital appreciation by investing in equity and equity related instruments of companies following Rural and/or allied theme. The Scheme shall primarily invest in companies that have business activities present in the rural and/or allied segments. Accordingly, the Scheme shall consider investing in equity & equity related instruments of companies that have branches, supply chains, sourcing of raw material or project/ factories/ mines/ plants (constructed or under construction), distribution channels or any other business activity present in the rural and/or allied segments. The Scheme shall follow an active investment strategy. As part of the theme, the Scheme shall invest in companies forming part of the below mentioned illustrative list of eligible basic industries: 1. 2/3 Wheelers 2. Aluminum, Copper & Zinc Products 3. Household Appliances 21. Household Products 22. Housing Finance Company 23. Integrated Power Utilities 24. Jute & Jute Products 25. Life Insurance 26. Non-Banking Financial Company (NBFC) 27. Companies that have business activities present in rural and/or allied segments Investments by the Scheme will be guided by any constituent/industry/sector that forms part of the benchmark index and which are in line with theme of the Scheme. The Scheme can also invest up to 20% of corpus in other equity & equity related instruments. The Scheme may use other derivative instruments like Interest Rate Swaps, Interest Rate Futures, Forward Rate Agreements, Stock / Index Futures, Stock / Index Options or other instruments for the purpose of hedging, portfolio balancing and other purposes, as permitted under the Regulations. Hedging using Interest Rate Futures could be perfect or imperfect, subject to applicable regulations. Usage of derivatives may expose the Scheme to certain risks inherent to such derivatives. The Scheme may also invest in overseas markets in equity & equity related instruments including Global Depository Receipts (GDRs), ADRs, foreign securities, bonds and mutual funds and such other instruments as may be allowed under the Regulations from time to time. Further, the Scheme may invest in other schemes managed by the AMC or in the schemes of any other Mutual Funds in terms of the prevailing Regulations. As per the Regulations, no investment management fees will be charged for such investments. The Scheme may invest in units issued by REITs & InvITs, preference shares and other permissible asset classes.
