ITC Ltd is a diversified conglomerate with businesses in various other sectors like FMCG,, Hotels, Paperboards, Packaging, Agri Business and IT. Founded in the year 1910 as “Imperial Tobacco Company” was renamed as “Indian Tobacco Company” in 1970 but today, it is no longer an acronym and is listed on NSE and BSE as ITC Ltd.
ITC owns about 25 FMCG brands in categories like personal care, food, education & stationery, safety machines, cigarettes, etc. ITC hotels was launched in the year 1975 with a motive of providing “Responsible Luxury” and currently has over 115 hotels under 6 different brands. The Agri Business of ITC is India’s second largest exporter of agri-products. The packaging arm at ITC is focusing on producing renewable boards and papers. The information technology arm is providing technical solutions to enterprises in diverse sectors.
In the FY 2022-2023, ITC Ltd reported total income of Rs. 72,688.8 cores and PAT of Rs. 18,753.3 crores with an annual increase of 16.6% and 24.5% respectively. In the same year, the company also declared the final dividend as Rs.6.75. ITC has a market capitalization of Rs. 5.85 trillion.
