Q3FY23 Results
    • The key highlight of Q3 was healthy 4G subscribers net addition of ~6.4 mn, along with robust addition of ~653k post-paid subscribers. India wireless revenues were up 2.5% QoQ (up 20.3% YoY) at ₹ 19353 crore, with subscriber addition of 4.4 mn and ARPU at ₹ 193.4, up 1.9% QoQ led by upgrades and improving subscriber mix.
    • Consolidated EBITDA came in at ₹ 18453 crore, up 4.9% QoQ, with margins of 51.5%, up 58 bps QoQ. India wireless margins was at 53.8% (up 150 bps QoQ) was driven by lower SUC charges. Overall Indian margin was up 95 bps QoQ at 52.7%. The Africa margin was at 49.1%, was flat QoQ
    • Reported Net debt (excluding lease liability) was at ~₹ 1.55 lakh crore (down ₹ 2448 crore, led by cash flow generation). The capex spends for the quarter was at ₹ 9314 crore vs. ₹7047 crore in Q2, on account of 5G roll out

  • Prepaid Rs 8,325 crore in Jan’24 and Rs 16,349 crore in YTD Financial Year ’24 to the Department of Telecom towards part prepayment of deferred liabilities pertaining to spectrum acquired in 2015 auction
  • Acquired 97.1% stake in Jan’24 in Beetel Teletech along with its 49% stake in Dixon Electro Appliances Private Limited

In a statement, Gopal Vittal, MD, said: “We have delivered yet another quarter of consistent and competitive growth across all our businesses. Revenue from India business sustained its momentum and grew sequentially by 3.0%, while the consolidated revenue was impacted by the devaluation of the Nigerian Naira and Malawian Kwacha. The quarter witnessed a strong growth trajectory for the postpaid and Homes business, while our DTH business added 388k net adds – the highest in the last 12 quarters. We remain on course with our strategy of premiumization that helped us add 7.4 million 4G/5G customers and exit the quarter with an industry leading ARPU of Rs 208. Even at this ARPU, our return on capital employed however, continues to be low at 9.4 percent. To ensure industry health, tariff repair is extremely critical.”

Quarterly net loss in June 2021 was Rs. 436.10 crores, which has improved by 97.35% as compared to net loss of Rs. 16,461.80 crores in June 2020. In June 2021, operating profit was reported at Rs. 9,237.90 crores, which is also increased by 311.20% as compared to an operating loss of Rs. 4,374.10 crores for the quarter ending in June 2020. From (Rs. 30.17) in June 2020, the EPS of Bharti Airtel has improved to (Rs. 0.79) per share in June 2021. BHARTIARTL’s stock closed at Rs. 634.05 on 16th August’2021 (NSE) and has returned 6.80% in the last six months and 18.44% in the last year.
