Quick Wrap: Nifty Metal Index gains 0.94%

Nifty Metal index closed up 0.94% at 5991.2 today. The index has gained 3.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Steel Authority of India Ltd added 2.68%, Jindal Steel & Power Ltd jumped 2.20% and Tata Steel Ltd gained 1.93%. The Nifty Metal index has soared 15.00% over last one year compared to the 13.74% increase in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Financial Services index gained 0.84% and Nifty Realty index increased 0.77% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 witnessed a rise of 0.54% to close at 18598.65 while the SENSEX recorded a gain of 0.55% to close at 62846.38 today.
