Generally futures contracts come with a maximum three-month expiry period, with the last Thursday of that particular month being the expiry day. In the event that Thursday is a trading holiday, then the expiry of the contract takes place on the preceding trading day.
You can buy or sell options contracts across various expiries based on the view you have on that stock or index.
Call Option: - In case you are bullish on stock or index than you will buy a call option or sell a put option contract of that underlying.
Put Option: - In case you are bearish on stock or index than you will buy a put option or sell a call option contract of that underlying.
