Nifty July futures trade at premium

The Nifty July 2021 futures were at 15,792, a premium of 43.55 points compared with Nifty`s spot closing of 15,748.45.

Turnover on the National Stock Exchange`s futures & options (F&O) segment was Rs 34.39 lakh crore compared with Rs 29.56 lakh crore in the previous session.

In the cash market, the Nifty 50 index fell 66.25 points or 0.42% to 15,748.45.

The NSE`s India VIX, a gauge of market`s expectation of volatility over the near term, fell 2.98% to 13.0025.

Reliance Industries, HDFC Life Insurance Company and Kotak Mahindra Bank were the top traded stock futures contracts in F&O segment for July expiry.

The July F&O contracts will expire on 29 July 2021.
